Foreign language conversation courses for Virginia Tech Faculty and Staff are organized by the Virginia Tech Language and Culture Institute (VTLCI) in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and made possible by the generous support of the offices of the Vice President of Outreach and International Affairs and the Vice President for Research.

Registration

These foreign language classes are open to current Virginia Tech faculty and staff. Participation is free of charge, though course books must be purchased separately. Fall semester classes (course calendar) will begin Monday, August 29 and will end Saturday, December 17. Spring semester classes (course calendar) will begin Tuesday, January 31 and will end Saturday, May 12.

There is no formal registration procedure. Interested faculty and staff should contact the instructor in advance to sign up (see e-mail addresses in the course calendars below). Class seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

For more information about a specific class, prospective students should contact the instructor directly.

Class Locations

Classes will take place at the VTLCI main building and in the VTLCI annex. The main building is located at 840 University City Boulevard across from the University Mall and behind the Rite Aid drug store. The annex is located at 810 University City Boulevard, also across from the University Mall and next to Zeppoli's Restaurant. Parking is readily available and does not require a permit. Please do not park in day care or Zeppoli's parking lots. If taking a bus, disembark at the at the Math Emporium stop on the Tom's Creek line and cross the street.

Course books may be purchased at the university bookstore main campus location, Volume II bookstore or amazon.com.
